On the warm morning of April 8th, 2024, the city of Mazatlán stirred with a sense of anticipation. Locals and travelers alike gathered along the shoreline, eyes turned skyward, hearts pounding with excitement. We were all waiting for a cosmic moment—a fleeting alignment between the sun, the moon, and our little spot on Earth.
I remember the quiet just before it happened. The sunlight began to dim as if someone was slowly turning down the volume of the day. Shadows stretched long and strange, and a cool breeze replaced the tropical warmth. Then, it came.
TOTALITY
The sky darkened to twilight, and a hush fell over the crowd. Gasps, laughter, and even tears—no one knew exactly what to say. Above us, the moon slipped perfectly in front of the sun, and we stood bathed in a surreal, silvery light. For four breathtaking minutes, the world stood still.
What made the experience unforgettable wasn’t just the eclipse. It was the people—strangers turned companions. The sunrise yoga on the beach. The mezcal tasting under the stars. The conversations that flowed as freely as the waves along the Malecon. Every moment was curated with intention, wonder, and heart.
And just like that, it was over.
The sun peeked out once more, and the spell was broken—but not forgotten.
